Insta360 Luna Ultra combines professional imaging, intelligent AI features, advanced stabilization, and a versatile dual-camera system in one compact gimbal camera. Developed with Leica imaging technology, it features a Leica Summicron lens with a 1-inch 8K sensor, a dedicated telephoto camera, a detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen, and a powerful Triple AI Chip system.

Leica Summicron Lens with 1” 8K Sensor

At the heart of Luna Ultra is a 1-inch 8K sensor paired with a Leica Summicron lens. With a bright f/1.8 aperture and up to 14 stops of dynamic range, the main camera captures exceptional detail, natural colors, and rich highlight and shadow information.

Even when footage is cropped or enlarged, images remain sharp and detailed, making Luna Ultra suitable for both everyday content creation and more demanding professional workflows.

Pro-Grade Telephoto Camera

When a wide-angle view is not enough, Luna Ultra’s dedicated telephoto camera gives you much greater creative freedom.

Featuring a 1/1.3-inch sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and up to 12× zoom, it makes it easy to isolate distant subjects and create more cinematic compositions.

Luna Ultra covers five essential focal lengths, offering up to 12× / 240mm zoom and 6× / 120mm lossless zoom.

Telephoto Macro

The telephoto camera can also be used for close-up shooting, revealing fine textures and small details with impressive clarity. The built-in 3-axis mechanical gimbal stabilization keeps telephoto and macro shots steady and precisely composed.

Triple AI Chip System

Luna Ultra introduces an advanced Triple AI Chip architecture designed to deliver powerful image processing without compromising performance.

Two dedicated imaging chips handle demanding image-processing tasks and low-light optimization, while a flagship 4nm AI chip provides additional processing power for intelligent features such as subject tracking, focusing, and computational imaging.

4K60fps PureVideo

For challenging lighting conditions, PureVideo Mode combines the large sensor with AI-powered processing to reduce noise while improving brightness and detail.

PureVideo supports recording at up to 4K 60fps, helping Luna Ultra produce clean and detailed footage even in low-light environments.

Detachable 2” OLED Touchscreen

Luna Ultra features an innovative detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen that works as both a monitor and a remote control.

With HD image transmission up to 20 meters, you can monitor framing and control the camera remotely. The screen also features a built-in microphone, making it especially useful for solo creators, selfies, vlogging, and situations where the camera needs to be positioned away from the operator.

Luna Ultra is designed to deliver natural-looking portraits straight out of the camera.

4K60fps Portrait Video uses advanced portrait algorithms to refine skin texture and complexion while maintaining a realistic appearance.

For shooting after dark, Low-Light Portrait Mode works together with the optional Mini Fill Light to keep faces bright and detailed against darker backgrounds, city lights, and neon scenes.

200MP Scenic Panorama

Capture expansive landscapes and detailed scenes with 200MP panoramas.

Luna Ultra can also create classic 2:1 cinematic panoramas, providing highly detailed panoramic images with minimal setup.

37MP UltraPhoto

For still photography, Luna Ultra captures images at up to 37MP, preserving fine details for cropping, editing, and sharing.

Photos can also be finished with an exclusive Leica watermark for a distinctive look.

Leica Signature Colors

The Leica collaboration extends beyond optics. Luna Ultra includes a selection of distinctive Leica-inspired color profiles and filters, giving creators more control over the final look directly in-camera.

Available looks include Leica Natural, Leica Chrome, Leica Vivid, NC Film, CC Film, Pos Film, Neg Film, Fresh, and Cinematic.

10-bit I-Log

For creators who prefer to grade their footage in post-production, Luna Ultra supports 10-bit I-Log.

The profile preserves more color information and additional highlight and shadow detail, providing greater flexibility during color grading. I-Log is also compatible with ACES workflows, making it suitable for more advanced professional production environments.

QR Color Share

Create a look you like and share it with other Luna users using QR Color Share.

Custom color settings can be saved as a QR code. Another Luna Ultra camera can simply scan the code with its lens to instantly apply the same look.

Deep Track 5.0

Deep Track 5.0 provides intelligent AI-powered subject tracking.

Select a subject directly on the touchscreen or activate tracking with the joystick, and Luna Ultra automatically follows the subject while keeping it positioned within the frame.

Combined with Rapid Focus, the system is designed to react quickly to changing scenes and moving subjects.

3-Axis Mechanical Stabilization

Luna Ultra uses a 3-axis mechanical gimbal to compensate for camera movement and keep footage smooth.

Whether walking, filming handheld, using the telephoto camera, or capturing more dynamic movement, the stabilization system helps maintain steady and controlled framing.

Advanced Color and Flicker Sensors

Built-in sensors automatically adjust white balance according to the surrounding environment, helping maintain consistent and natural-looking colors.

The system can also detect and reduce flicker caused by artificial lighting, resulting in cleaner footage when shooting indoors or under challenging light sources.

Luna Ultra can also connect directly to compatible Insta360 Mic Series transmitters without requiring a separate receiver. Up to two Mic Air or Mic Pro transmitters can be connected for two-person recording.

POV Head Tracker

For hands-free filming, Luna Ultra supports the optional POV Head Tracker, allowing camera movement to be controlled naturally using head movements.

It can also be combined with accessories such as the Neck Mount or Backpack Mount for immersive POV shooting and creative hands-free perspectives.

Built-In Storage and Long Battery Life

Luna Ultra features 47GB of built-in storage, allowing you to start recording even without a microSD card installed.

Its 1550mAh battery provides up to 4 hours of shooting, while PD fast charging can restore usable power in approximately 23 minutes.

Integrated timecode support makes multi-camera synchronization faster and more precise.

Luna Ultra integrates into professional editing workflows and is compatible with applications including Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro.
